| A new real-time digital averaging technique for measuring the ultrasonic velocity is described by using conventional pulse echo method. It allows to give a direct measurement of the time interval between the zero levels of selected individual cycles in different echoes with a precision better than 1.0ns. The ultrasonic wave travel time is automatically displayed without any manual adjustment. Some experimental results in various environmental conditions are reported. |
