| It is an effective method to ablate atherosclerotic (AS) plaque in artery with ultrasonic energy which is delivered via metal wire to the target lesion located in narrowed or occluded segment of the artery. The ablation of AS plaques makes the cavity of artery enlargment or recanalization, therefore this method is known as ultrasonic angioplasty (UAP). |
