In this paper, a new ultrasonic method for breaking-through ice block is proposed. For the ice-block samples, the 300mm/min of breaking-through velocity can be reached only with ca. 5W/cm2 of the low or high frequency ultrasound. The experimental procedures have been introduced and both cavitation concentrating mechanical effect and thermal effect of jetting acoustic cavitation field in the process are indicated, finally, the future applications in the ice process engineering are predicted. |
