Vector sensors have a number of advantages over traditional hydrophone arrays. It is usually assumed that sensors are located in a free space, however problems arise when considering the presence of boundaries, especially complicated reflecting boundaries. This paper proposes a gen-eral model of sound scattering and directivity pattern for a vector sensor located on a complicated reflecting boundary.Numerical analyses and calculation are carried out with ANSYS and SYSNO-ISE.The calculated results are in agreement with directivity patterns measured in a water tank.
